These last few mornings have been especially beautiful.
As I pull open the sliding doors to the house so that I can let the cats out first thing, a rush of cool air hits me, and I’m faced with this.

What a stunning start to the day. The mist and low cloud inversions in the sound slowly burning off in the morning sun.

Breakfast – hot coffee and homemade bread. The sound of the birds and the heat of the morning sun.
Freya taking the opportunity with our distraction to leap up onto the kitchen worktop and sit in the sink, one of her favourite games. She is rapidly removed.
Fergus being very chatty this morning with his own little vocabulary, vying for our attention and ear rubs, squeaking and chirruping like a bird.
There are worse ways to start a day.

How totally lovely! Pics of the cats please! 😉 what a wonderful place for them too.
Best wishes,
D

I’ve done another post with the most recent pics I have of the cats. They’re growing quickly. And yes, it’s so funny to watch them bouncing through the long grass and reeds on the croft as if they were in springs. They’re becoming accomplished hunters out there!

On springs even 🙈

There are worse ways to start a day indeed! I have my little Melvin (the foxy) to stretch and lean into me, demanding head scratches and cuddles. It just makes you feel loved doesn’t it?

It does. Ours are at the age that they want cuddles and fussing then they get over excited and we get scratched or bitten. I’m sure they’ll calm down as they get older. I certainly hope so!

They will calm down. We all do with age.

I do envy you your views! My house is very sheltered at th bottom of the valley but the price I pay is not seeng the sunrises and sunsets or any long views.

Cosily tucked into a valley has its appeal too. We get fabulous big skies up here, but the downside is that we’re very exposed at the top of the hill
